Why Full Investment is Recommended: Executive Overview
The Opportunity
Mimi's Sweet Treats presents a rare investment opportunity: a proven, profitable business with established operations seeking strategic expansion into a high-growth market. With current revenue of $251,812 and a 34.8% profit margin, we have demonstrated operational excellence and market validation. Now, we are positioned to capture a transformative market opportunity that can scale revenue to over $1.1 million in Year 1 and $2.5 million in Year 2.
Why Full Investment Makes Strategic Sense
The full investment recommendation—combining base expansion ($85,000) with the complete catering expansion including food trailer ($40,208-$67,708)—is not merely about maximizing revenue potential. It represents the optimal strategic approach for several critical reasons:
Exceptional ROI and Rapid Payback.
The food trailer investment delivers a 489% Year 1 ROI with a 2.4-month payback period. This is not theoretical projection—it is based on conservative estimates of confirmed market opportunities, established venue partnerships, and proven demand. The localized catering option alone generates 178-211% revenue growth, but the full investment unlocks an additional $430,000-$1,320,000 in annual revenue potential from statewide events, festivals, and high-volume markets that are simply inaccessible without mobile capabilities.
Growth Percentage Comparison
Market Size Transformation.
Without the food trailer, we access a market of 200,000 people in the immediate region. With the full investment, we gain access to 5.8 million people across Colorado—a 2,800% increase in addressable market. This expansion includes festivals, county fairs, weekly markets, and high-value events that generate substantial revenue but require mobile infrastructure. The food trailer is not just equipment—it is a market access vehicle that transforms our geographic and revenue potential.
Competitive Advantages That Cannot Be Replicated.
Our recommendation for full investment is strengthened by competitive advantages that most small businesses cannot match. We operate with a custom-coded digital platform that provides real-time SEO control, complete data ownership, AI-integrated systems, and zero developer dependency—capabilities that save $25,000-$145,000 annually while enabling rapid adaptation to market opportunities. When competitors need weeks to update their websites for wedding season, we optimize in minutes. When local festivals are announced, we capture those opportunities immediately while competitors miss them entirely. This technology infrastructure creates a sustainable competitive moat that multiplies the value of our expansion.
Risk Mitigation Through Diversification.
Full investment creates multiple revenue streams that reduce dependence on any single source. Base catering services, venue partnerships, food trailer events, personal chef services, and meal prep subscriptions create a diversified revenue portfolio. If one stream underperforms, others compensate. This diversification is only achievable with the complete investment, particularly the food trailer which unlocks entirely new revenue categories.
Proven Market Validation.
Two confirmed events in November 2025—achieved without marketing infrastructure, brand recognition, or dedicated landing pages—demonstrate underlying demand that exceeds our current capacity to capture. The Ouray wedding ($2,500) and City of Delta election event ($320) occurred through word-of-mouth and existing relationships, indicating strong market readiness. With full investment and proper marketing infrastructure, we can systematically capture and scale this demand.
Immediate Primary Vendor Status.
Our family relationship with Longhorns & Lace venue provides immediate primary vendor status for 40 weddings per peak season, plus 2-3 events weekly year-round. This venue alone represents $88,750-$342,500 in annual revenue potential. However, to maximize this opportunity and capture additional high-value events statewide, the food trailer investment is essential. It enables us to serve larger events, reduce travel logistics, and provide consistent service quality at scale.
Technology-Enabled Scalability.
Our in-house technology capabilities mean that every dollar invested in expansion generates revenue without the overhead costs that burden traditional businesses. Development of new pages (wholesale, events, catering) and advertising campaigns are handled by owner Joseph as part of his salary—not as additional expenses. This means investments directly increase revenue streams, making the full expansion more profitable and scalable than partial investment would be for competitors.
Strategic Timing.
The market timing is optimal. Personal chef services show 41% year-over-year growth in our region. Event catering demand is increasing as the economy recovers. Food truck and trailer vendors are in high demand for festivals and markets. Our established brand, proven operations, and technology infrastructure position us to capture this demand immediately—but only with full investment that enables complete market access.
